Welcome to the capital of the Göta Canal, Motala. Feel free to visit the shops or
why not take a walk along the canal to the old Motala Verkstad. In the afternoon you can check in at Hotel Nostalgi (check-in from 15.00) in the harbor. Dinner is served in the hotel restaurant at
18.30. The package includes a visit to Motala Motor Museum, which is located in the same
building as the hotel. There you can see a unique collection of cars, motorcycles, mopeds and
much more.
After breakfast you leave Motala harbour at 10.30 onboard M/S Kung Sverker. You travel along Göta Canal and lake Boren to Borensberg and will be back in Motala at 15.30. During the trip you will pass through the famous lock staircase in Borenshult, Göta Canal's second longest lock staircase with 5 locks and a drop of 15 metres.
A nice lunch will be served on board the boat. The boat will make a short stop in Borensberg, where you can take the opportunity to see one of the canal's two hand-operated locks.
